Caffeine pills?

I have cardiomyopathy and a history of v-tach and v-fib. I have an internal defibrillator set to shock if my heartrate reaches 210.

I have had a migraine for about 2 days, and my friend (a nursing student) suggested i try some caffeine, since it can help with a migraine. I took 4 caffeine pills, but now i feel like shi.t. My heart is racing, im shaky, im nauseous, just feel like crap.

What do i do? How do i feel better, and with my heart history, should i be concerned? I have the defibrillator though, so does that make it safer for me?

By the way, i DO know how dumb this was now...and will not take them ever again...

well, you could try increasing your water consumption in the hopes of excreting the caffeine faster.

i really think you should call your doc, tell them about the caffeine pills ( you can blame the bad judgment on the migraine) and ask if there is a med to counter-act or absorb the caffeine. or if they have other advice/info that can help you right now.

i would not be willing to bet my life that the defibrillator could take care of anything.

Taking four caffeine pills is not healthy for anyone, yet it is not deadly. However, if you have a history of heart problems, and have palpitations, you should contact your doctor for further advice. Also, caffeine only helps with headaches if they are related to caffeine withdrawal, and even then one coffee should suffice. Next time you have a migraine, try Advil liquigels. Also, always read the warnings and recommendations on any product with a lot of caffeine, such as caffeine pills or energy drinks.

do u take beta blocker you could try taking some or even better go to the doctor
