Can ct scans tell if you have a brain tumor?

I am curious if it can tell if you have a tumor if you get a ct scan of the brain without the contrast can it detect tumors?

Not all of the time. When I had a seizure, the doctor only did a CT and it came up negative. Eight months later, I had a second seizure & they did both a CT & MRI. It was very difficult to see on the CT but was quite apparent on the MRI that I had a brain tumor.

yes

I think you can, however, most docs should get an MRI also, to see the depth of the injury, or tumor...best of luck to you. (It takes a"slices"view of the brain.) Therefore, it is more detailed.

Yes, it is possible. Did they do a nuclear scan? If not you may want to request that. Otherwise, I would seek out a Neuro Surgeon. They work with those kind of issues.
