Contrast dyes for CT scans?

visiopate

visipaque is a contrast dye used for CT and angiograms that is more expensive and suppose to be better for the kidneys and used in CT when your kidney function is poor.

Good Luck

??
Don't know what you're asking, but I've had tons of contrast for CT scans. Some orally [YUCK!] and some by IV. It'll be OK though.

I work in a hospital and they are VERY IMPORTANT for viewing certain problems. However, some people are allergic to them(the dyes). There are always alternatives like other types of xray's, ultrasound being one example. Try it and see... the Xray technicians will know what to do at the first signs of the allergy, should it happen. It is not usual. ;-)
For your next question: please be a little more specific. ;-)

If you're wonder about contrast dyes because you can't find any information about "visiopate", ask your doctor for the exact name and spelling. I've ordered plenty of CT scans with contrast and have never heard of visiopate.

This may help. Hope so!
