I need to know how many ct scans and mri's is normal to have. I have had like either a ct scan or a mri?

once a month for the past 12 months and I'm fixing to have another one in a couple of days. I need to know when I should start worring about all the radiation.

MRI, no radiation. CT, depends on what you keep having done, but once a month for 12 months really isn't that much. We try to keep things as low as reasonably acheivable (ALARA) and still get a good scan. Obviously you're going to get more dose with repeated full-body scans versus brain scans and the types of tissues radiated also can have an effect.

Let me put it to you this way, as a medical occupational worker with radiation, I'm allowed to only get 10% of the dose in a year that a normal person is supposed to receive. Even then, throughout the month I probably receive the same dosage as a full body scan or two, and I work there. I'm not overly worried about it and I get almost twice in a year that you get. It's normal to be concerned, but don't worry yourself over it, chances are you're not goign to get fatal cancer or anything from it.
