I just had 2 ct scans. I've heard they are dangerous- what should I do in terms of detoxin or damage control?

I left the G off detoxing, sorry.

I agree that you really have nothing to worry about. In any case there is really nothing you can do except avoid unnecessary xrays, a practice all mankind should follow! Key word here is unnecessary.

I do not agree that CT scans are harmless. This is an area of great scrutiny, as witnessed by this New England Journal of Medicine article last November (http://content.nejm.org/cgi/reprint/357/... My apologies if you can't access that link. In any case, CT radiation may not be as trivial as we think. But there is no reason to be alarmist about it.

The main thing is to be sure the CT scan is being done for a good reason. After all, isn't a little radiation to find a removable/curable disease worth it, compared to avoiding the tiny radiation dose and succumbing to something trivial?

u will be fine if u are worried ask your doc but really no big deal

You don't have to do anything. Radiation builds up over your lifetime so your best bet is to avoid unnecessary x-rays as you age. CT scans are not dangerous. The scanners use low dose radiation in order to achieve their pictures.

A CT scanner uses a very low dose of radiation and is considered extremely safe. You are worried over nothing.

CT scans are not dangerous i would be more concerned about what they could find eg. cancer!!
