CT scan for sinusitis negative??

I had a CT Scan for sinusitis in Dec 07 and after my ENT doc looked through all the scans he said I don't have Chronic Sinusitis which my primary doctor said I had. I know one is a specialist and the other isn't. The ENT doctor is going to do deviated septum surgery in a couple of weeks on me anyway which he said he can't guarantee will help. My question is could it be possible for the CT scan to show nothing because at the time of the scan I was fine? In other words, sinuses flare up and then go back down. Could it have been that I did the scan when I my sinuses weren't "inflamed"? The ENT said something to the effect that this is how your sinuses looked at the "time". I don't know what to do, I have all the symptoms of Chronic Sinusitis. I mean everyone of them!! I get sick all the time, I am always on antibiotics, facial pressure, ears clogged, nose congestion, nasal drip, you name it I have it.

I suffer with chronic sinusitis and let me tell you something, my CT scan showed nothing too! I had an ear, nose and throat specialist tell me that I have polyps. They are growths inside of the nose and they are not fun. Sinusitis is hard to find in a CT. The only thing it showed was nasal scarring and those polyps. If you have them too, you can have them surgically removed. My Doctor gave me "VanceNase" for it instead of surgery. You may want to talk to your Doctor about the possibility of polyps with you.
