CT Scan - Kidney? |
I'm getting a CT scan of my Kidney in the morning. A few days ago I had a blood test and a urinalysis. I was asked to not drink or anything starting at 12 tonight... it all depends on how the doc writes the order. usually they do use contrast when they prohibit your intake. if the doc writes chest/abdomen/pelvis, they will scan that whole area. if he specifies on the order to just do the kidney, then that's all they will scan. the kidney is fairly close to the colon anyway, so it's going to show up. sadly, i have much experience in this area as my husband had to have his entire colon and rectum removed due to cancer, and now they're looking at a mass on his kidney that has grown larger in the last three months. hope this helped you. good luck. Yes, most likely you will have to have IV contrast. |
