CT scan showed "something" wrong with my uterus... what could it be? |
I spent 7 hours in the ER today, being poked and prodded and scanned and whatnot. They did a UA, blood work, a pelviv exam, an ultrasound, and a CT scan. I was in so much pain on the lower left side of my abdomen they gave me morphine, and kept offering me more. None of their tests came back with anything until the CT scan, and they said it showed "something" wrong with my uterus, and that I needed to follow up with a gynecologist (it was too late by then to be able to schedule an appointment, so I have to try again in the morning). What could be wrong that would cause that much pain? It's 3 in the morning and I'm still hurting, even though they gave me codein... and on top of it, I'm worried, thanks to their very inconclusive answer. Any ideas? I guess it would have been a good idea to mention I've had two children with no problems whatsoever.... To tell you the truth you have to look at the situation. are you sexually active. if you are you could be suffereing from an ectopic pregnancy where the egg implants outside of the uterus. Also an inflammation of the edometrium which is the lining of the uterus could cause the pain. this is called endometriosis. The answer they gave is a bad one. You would have to also look at the levels in your blood and what your ua showed. |
