Question about my dads CHF...? |
My dads had CHF for the last 6 years. After he had a heart attack 6 years ago. Thats when he got CHF. He has to watch his fluids and he fills up with fluids. After that he goes through a spell where he cant breath and we have to call 911 and have him rushed to the hospital to get it drained out of him. He had like 1 spell a year. Well about 3 weeks ago he had a spell. And on thursday we had to rush him back cuz he was spitting up blood. And had a gargle in his throat. I just hope he doesnt die and i hope it isnt getting fatal. They think he might have a blockage somewhere in his heart. Hes doing fine now though. Ive talked to him everynight since thursday and hes doing great. I just cry when i think about him dying. I dont think i could go on if he died. Hes raised me and everything. Hes always been there for me. I just want to ask if everyone can keep him in his prayers. I know this isnt church and its just, Y.A. He has a pacemaker and defibulator It's hard to say exactly why he spit up blood without knowing more information. There are many reasons why someone could spit blood, none of which are directly related to CHF. Perhaps he has a pneumonia or other underlying lung problem that led to this "spell". Any infection or inflammation in the lung can cause small amounts of blood to be coughed up. There are other things that can cause bleeding in the lungs, and it's possible for blood to have come from other places such as his esophagus (something typically only seen in alcoholics or after severe bouts of vomiting). However, since you say he is doing well now, it sounds like it must have been a fairly benign problem that caused the blood to spit up. Good luck, and I hope your father continuese to feel well. |
