I want to hear from those who've had heart attack & now have CHF & EDEMA? |
I prefer to hear from those who live with CHF & Edema daily, like me. I ask cause I have NO RESPONSE to diuretics. They fail to produce a drop of urine. Since Nov.06 my feet, ankles, calves, thighs, knees, thighs are rigid & swollen w/water& it's not getting better. What I wish to ask from you is this: YOu who live with edema & CHF, did your swelling ever resolve &did your water weight gain normalize? Whether you entered hospital or not, used diuretics or ultrafiltration, please tell me if & how long it took for all pathological edema to resolve. I am despondent from my weakness, gasping, shortness of breath, and shakiness. With CHF & edema, are you ever able to walk and get out and in normally? Has anyone improved with digoxin? have you been able to keep your lungs clear of fluid? Can you live without constant hospital stays? Knittinma- As I Stated, the diuretics DON"T WORK in my body. I wanted to know if your dad had edema throughout his lower limbs and when & how did it disappear? His body had to re-absorb the water back into his veins & capillaries. did this happen? I want specific info to learn about this disease. NO cardiologist has ever given me direct specific info at all. As to what to expect & how CHF can be resolved. Please God, send me someone who will share the details and is the sufferer. I personally don't suffer from CHF but my dad does. He is 78 and has had been able to keep fairly active walks 2 miles daily, does the yard work, grocery shopping and Saturday was up on the roof sweeping leaves off. Sunday he had a major heart attack (his 2nd heart attack in 7 years). My father was 63 when he passed away but he had a heart attack 10 years earlier. He finally passed away of Lung failure. He ok for the first 6 and then he started walking very very slowly. He had edema and his diuretic medicines worked for a little while untill he had to go to the nursing home because he would fall down when he stands up somethings (Pain). Diuretics stopped responding and he was always 30 pounds heavier with water. He suffered 4 cardiac arrests from CHF and then his lungs just stopped working from the backflow. |
