Please - this query is only for those who have severe edema & CHF? |
I'd like to ask: do you have pain upon walking or stepping on the ground , or flexing your legs? Does the water pressure inside cause you real PAIN when walking? - due to pressing on the nerves & muscles inside your legs? I have severe edema, and the pain is crippling and unrelenting. This is not arthritis or rheumatism. I appreciate any replies from actual sufferers of the edema and CHF. Levi: thanks for your idea - but I thank the Lord God for granting me perfect blood sugar all my life to this day. Sadly, my edema comes from 'CHF -when the heart is destroyed by an MI and cannot pump properly to circulate the blood, then blood swells in the lower limbs, causing oozing of plasma out of capillaries into surrounding tissues I have had a problem with my legs for years [ ever since I was carrying my second child ]. I have had surgery and it took some of the pain away but not all. They get swelled up and painful if I am on them for too long but on the other hand, I think the exercise helps and keeps everything circulating. It really helps to elevate them and almost immediately relieves the pressure. I am stuck with them, I think. I wish there was a way to fix it. I wish you luck- I know what you are going through. It can be very frustrating. Take care. Do you also have diabetes? Not to worry you, but you may have undiagnosed diabetes causing diabetic neuropathy. I would ask your physician to do an A1C blood test on you 1st. Then, if the results come back that your pancreatic function is okay, I would take your diuretic as directed, spend ample time with your feet elevated each day. Either way, contact your physician about getting some neurontin for nerve pain. I would not take an elective surgery to sever nerves to alleviate these pains. leg edema associated with CHF is usually painless. pain upon walking or intermittent claudication is usually caused by a block in the blood vessel, normally due to atherosclerosis and thrombosis, felt in the calf muscles. do u find that u have to stop for a while after a few metres of walking to relieve the pain? this block would narrow the veins and blood return is compromised, further exacerbated by activity, which causes build up of lactic acid that eventually causes pain. i doubt there's any neurological reason for your leg pain. |
