Lots of Fatigue For past 2 years straight??? Do I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)???

I found out that my immune system is compromised due to stress. In clinical terms, "My immunoglobin subclass 3 marker is too low." (otherwise known in the medical world as a low IGg3 marker).

The immunologist told me that the epstein barr virus is present (and always WILL be) since I have had mono as a teen.

It's not uncommon for those with CFS to be associated with the things I have. I'm not sure if I HAVE chronic fatigue or not. But, if CFS is defined by what I just described above, then I suspect I might have it????

I've had allergies, upper respiratory infections, and MANY sinus infections...esp in my mid 30's while under stress in my marriage.

Here's the list of meds the doc prescribed:

-Alpha lipoic acid
-Vitamin C
-Zincate
-Doxycycline (only 100 mg/day for 8 months/year)
-Flaxseed Oil
-Folate
-Zyrtec
-Nortriptyline (for its antihistamine side effect).

Do I have CFS? Can anyone tell me if YOU have CFS, and if my symptoms look like I might have it???

This is a very difficult question to answer. My sister has had chronic fatigue for several years so I know a little bit about it, but I am not an expert or anything. First of all there is no definitive test to prove that you have CFIDS. It is usually decided by a process of elimination. There are several chronic diseases that have similar symptoms. Something else that you might look into is fibromialga (probably not spelled right). My sister has had several of these persistent symptoms for 7 or 8 years: constant headache, extreme muscle fatigue, unrestful sleep, short-term memory and concentration problems, brain fog, and probably a few more that I didn't mention. Many people think that just because they feel tired all the time that they have CFIDS, and this is simply not true. It is a very commonly misunderstood disease, and since there is no definitive test to prove that you have it, many doctors believe that it doesn't even exist. There is no cure for this disease, but there are treatments that may help to lessen some of the symptoms. Many people who have this disease will have it for the rest of their lives, but there have been cases where it just went away. You might try researching CFIDS on the web to find out more information. i can't find where you've actually listed your symptoms...
yes the EBV is commonly associated with CFS - if it is caused by this it is known as post-viral fatigue syndrome.
i have a website www.geocities/com/so_tired123
i wrote few pages on it about CFS, including the AMA diagnostic test. Report It

also check out hypothyroidism

you should talk to your doctor. if necessary, he will direct you to a specialist.
