About cat scans and doppler tests for PVD-- which is a better test?

recently had doppler tests on arteries. have had stents in ileac 10 years ago and one in right leg a year ago. I know my right leg has a occlusion which I am handling just fine. No severe pain--only discomfort which is mild. My doctor says the cat scan will tell him how bad the occlusion is and then suggests bypass in groin area. I do not want to do it if not absolutely necessary.....I feel like he is just trying to get me in for another surgery and I don't want to jump the gun.. want to try chelation therapy before any MORE vascular surgeries. I would like to turn to a naturopath for answers to this vascular disease and am fed up with modern medicine. Every surgery I have had leaves a little more debilatated than I was before the surgery ..Losing alll faith in medical profession ---has anyone had experience with chelation?

I'd be very hesitant to go to a naturopath with your history. Occluding of the arteries is serious. How do you know the occlusion you have is not going to totally occlude one day--if that happens, you'll be faced with amputation. What can the naturopath do for that? What happens if some of the plaque breaks off and begins to circulate in your blood stream--in which case you may need to have more intervention. Debilitation has a lot to do with age and baseline condition preoperatively as well .
Seems to me you had a good run--you lasted 10 yrs without incident until last year.
Be careful--better stick with the tried and true....and Regulated!
