What are the costs of CAT Scans?

What are the costs of CAT Scans?

It depends on what kind you mean . . there are full body scans, chest scans, abdominal scans, pelvic scans . . . so it varies from scan to scan and from hospital to hospital. But, in general, the cost is about $700.00 for each view (chest, abdomin, pelvic) and can cost up to $2500 for a full body scan (insurance usually will pay the full cost of a scan).

It depends on what the Dr. orders. If he orders a scan with contrast ,then it is more than a scan without. Example.... a head scan without contrast is much cheaper than a head scan with and without contrast. It all depends on what was ordered !!! Be sure to call your insurance first to make sure your scan is covered.

All depends upon where you live and what sort of health system you have in place. Typibcally a CT in Australia, will set you back A$565 for neck down to abdomen and A$890 for a full body scan. The majority of which is recoverabe from the public health system.

My mom had a scan of her head and abdomen and was about $4000 in California.
