I have to have a Cat Scan is there an OTC pill I can take to help me relax for it?

Ive never had a Cat Scan. If anyone else has had one, does it make you claustrophobic, as Ive heard? If so, I thought if I had an OTC pill of some sort it might help me relax thru the procedure. But I dont know of any such pill, other than a sleep aid.

Really, don't medicate yourself for things like this, it's unnecessary. Just take a deep breath and stay calm.

There is no over the counter anti-anxiety pill. If you are not normally claustrophobic then you won't have a problem with a CT scan. A CT scan is open any way not closed like an MRI.

a CT scan is really more nerve racking then anything. I would suggest taking maybe a tylenol PM b4 you go, and I also suggest closeing your eyes as soon as they get you on the bed thingy. Its not nearly as bad as an MRI, but it still helps is you don't see the inside of the tube. oh and you will be COLd VERY VOLD!! but they give you a blaket and it doesn't last that long. just remember to rela, like I said maybe tke a Tylenol PM and you may want to have someone take you and drive you home from the scan.

I recently had three back to back, they are fine, it is actually really open and the part that goes over your head is slim, and you don't notice it.

yes you could ask your DR for a valium but u are not closed in not like a MRI best of luck :-)
