If I wanted a second opinion on the reading of a CAT scan, would medicare pay for it ? |
If I was on medicare and a Cat scan was used to diagnose cancer, would medicare i am so sorry, you sound like you got bad news from this, i'm sorry but i think the Doctor who read your cat scan probably knew what he was doing, i don't really know if medicare would pay or not, just guessing, i would say probably, no, i'm sorry , i know that is not what you wanted to hear, Good Luck to you and God Bless You!!! Hello; Yes, with permission. Contact the Medicare Ombudsman for your area or read your Medicare handbook. Another good source is to contact AARP and find out about the AARP group in your area. They can usually guide you. I have always said everyone is entitled to a 2nd opinoin. Get the films of your CT scan. Nowdays, they are on a disk and take them to whoever you want to take them to for the 2nd opinoin. |
