My dad had a mri and a cat scan that showed a spot by his adrenal gland they took a biopsy which came up neg,?

if the biopsy is negative but the cat and mri show a spot mwhat does this mean? he just tooka pet scan we go on monday for the news.the dr was saying that she may order chemo. but hey wait wouldnt the biopsy be more aqurite?what does everyone thing ? is this bad????

Biopsy can show the type of cell there is in the adrenal gland. However, biopsy is also a function of chance, sometimes biopsy doesn't pick up the pathological cells.

PET can detect the functional pathology of the tissues and probably the most accurate in confirming it. However, I would like to suggest second opinion from other specialists. Just a suggestion
