When your pregnanat does it affect your baby to have a cat scan of your brain? |
I was involved in a car accident and im pregnant. I hit my head on the winsheild. I needed a cat scan. Did it affect my baby? They put a lead mat over and under me. Did that prevent anything happining to my baby? they know what they are doing. hopefully you told them you were pregnant...did you? I'm far from an expert, but I am betting it's pretty harmless, but I sincerely beleive that anything that affects you affects your baby. As long as you don't carry your baby in your head, no. your avatar is a man. this is unerving. please hit "add details" and tell us why! i would say no. but did they ask you if you were pregnant and if you are showing im sure they knew thats why they used the lead mat over you and under you im pretty sure other wise you wouldnt have been able to do it. im sure everything is fine. the doctor should know you are pregnant. then they will have the necessary measures to shield your baby from harm. Nothing is going to happen to your baby. They will shield your baby... EFIL well they say that things like that can cause brith problems. i dont want to alarm you its just a rumor.... so no i dont think so... or maybe hmmm... vwell u should better ask a profecional a pediatrician I would hope your Dr. knew you were pregnant and thought the need for the CAT outweighed the possible risk to the baby. The led mat will "help" but it is strongly suggested NOT to have any radiological scans during pregnancy...don't fret though, radiation does take "time" to build up and cause a negative effect... A CT scan is like getting hundreds of x-rays, and people worry about getting just one x-ray when you're pregnant. To my knowledge it doesnt affect the baby as long as u use those mats that protects u from the machine....but once u are so far along their are certain things that u cant do so if u werent able to get it done they wouldnt have done it |
