Cabg has done before 8 month.now due to cold season pain increase.what i have to do? what abt pain killer?

i want to avoied pain killer.but early morning and late night pain increased and post opretive problem recognize.there is no any cardieck problem. no chest pain or anjayana. only pain on chest bone and on stateches. please advice me properly.

no one can tell without seeing the condition. its better to consult any surgeon better cardio thoracic surgeon. and i do hope that you have to cope with it and ignore such pains if it is not a cardiac problem because bones are stitched with wires so many times you will feel that. But at least once you must consult a doctor first as he will only guide you properly after examination. I strongly recommend you to see a doctor first. These are sensitive issues related to health and should not raised here.
In winters you have to be more careful as cardiac problems arises more in winters.

If you want to avoid narcotic pain killers I would suggest going with a pain killer/anti-inflammatory. Ibuprofen 800mg which is also called Motrin 800 will not only help you with your pain but it will reduce any inflammation in the incision area, you have to get a perscription from your doctor for it. They are non-narcotic so they are not addictive.
Feel better.
=-)

I agree with you to avoid pain killers. You may take away your mind from your post-operative pain by doing some math calculation in your mind, or take it to a peaceful beach, or listening to a radio broadcast, etc.
Pain killers should be the last resort.

This is a common complaint the first winter after a CABG. It feels like arthritis in your surgical area. Pain medication is appropriate - start with tylenol. You will have to ask about whether you can take ibuprofen because if you are on aspirin and Plavix daily, this can increase your bleeding times. If the tylenol (use on a regular basis, not intermittent dosages) does not help, then it is time to ask for something stronger from your doctor which you can use at night.

There are good ayurvedic capsules such as Rudved, Cardoved, Suved, Rasoved etc. Check in google for more details. They are quite effective without any side effect.
