PTA with stent followed later by CABG has been recommended. Why cant we directly do CABG without stenting? |
Thanks for taking the time to answer my Q. Just to give you some details of the angio. It revealed triple vessel disease. LEFT CORONARY ANGIO: mid LAD has diffuse disease with max severity of 80%. RIGHT CORONARY ANGIO: Maximum severity of 90% & distal RCA is totally occluded. ABDOMINAL AORTOGRAM: proximal to the bifurcation has tandem 80% & 60% stenosis. Both renal arteries CIA & EIA are normal. PTCA & CABG are two different surgical methods to treat coronary artery diseases. One of them applicable at the stage of the disease. If either one of the coronary artery ( left or right) bloked more than 80% then the cardiologist choose PTCA (angioplasty) for the patient, but if both the arteries are grossly bloked along with their supporting arteries with unstable angina,,then a cardiothorasic surgeon need to do immediatly CABG. It depends on the percentage of plaque in the artery and how many arteries involved. In some cases they will try stenting first as it is less invasive and you go home the next day. it depends on the 1st picture of coronary angiography, many vessels involved should do cabg..but if its only one vsessel involved by the plaque then stenting shall be good....this is very simple but i suggest it helps Ayurveda can cure heart problems without surgery, stent, bypass, angioplast or chelation. Try Rudved ayurvedic capsule. I find it unusual that they recommended Stenting first then CABG, that really doesn't make any sense. Triple vessel disease always requires CABG. It is the most effective treatment. Ask the doctors to explain this to you again. |
