After a double bypass(CABG) if re blocked what will be the procedure? another bypass? stents?

I had a double bypass May 15, 2007 and have been having the same symptoms as before the bypass. If my arteries are reblocked which will be the process? Has this happened to anyone out there or anyone you know? I will see my cardiologist this week since the symptoms are getting worse.

Your cardiologist will probably want to do a heart cath to see what is really going on. My husband had a triple bypass in 1992. of his three bypasses two have blocked off. How ever he has many new little arteries gown around the blockages. He did have to have one stint to resupply blood to the bottom tip of the heart.

In his case he will not be able to have additional bypass surgery as the native arteries below his bypasses are too Small to work well with a new bypass. Everyone is different so only your cardiologist can tell you what will need to be done for you .

Sometimes additional bypasses can be done, or stents.... Just let your doctor tell you what will need to be done....

stop eating fat food and cheeseburgers and your heart
will be fine.

If you have not done every single thing the doctors and rehab staff told you to do, you should have expected this. Few people follow all recommendations, especially diet, exercise and stress reduction.

If you are already doing them, you have my sympathy.

Now, research Dr Dean Ornish Reversal Plan, and Dr Richard Flanigan's new book, Longevity Made Simple.

If you have trouble with any amount of exercise, you need to start with easier effort levels and shorter periods of activity.

Be sure to ask your cardiologist about nitroglycerin spray, which you could use before exercise, and about Ranexa, a twice a day tablet that will cut down your incidents of angina.

The doctor may want to have you try EECP, external enhanced counter pulsation therapy.

Good luck
