Is blocks in artery curable by medicine alone ?

hi,

Is blocks in artery curable by taking medicines alone, rather than going for CABG etc. ??

Thanks

Nirmal

NO, only in case of acute myocardial infarction, due to thrombus clot busters (streptokinase) can revert changes both in artery by dissolving the clot.
The rest require stents,PTCA or CABG DEPENDING UPON THE STATUS % OF THE BLOCK.

depends on the site and percentage of blockage. Best to consult the cardiologist. Cheers

NO the time it takes for med alone to work may be to long and lead to heart muscle damage.

but many times they can do a angioplasty and/or put a stent in and that will open it up.

many hospitals will only put in 3 stents then they will do a CABG

no, but you can make choices to prevent plaque from blocking your arteries i.e. diet, supplementation. They have found a substance that promotes arterial elasticity-- increasing the elasticity of your arteries allows blood to flow more freely and lessens the chance of plaque breaking off the arterial wall and clogging the artery-- the clogging is what leads to heart attack, or sometimes stroke. Check out the link below to learn more of how to prevent this. Heart disease has to be prevented and there is no pill to pop after you have it that will make it go away.
