I'm going to have cardiac bye pass on 15 this month?I'm worried abt my pain after surgery ?

. Im 27 year old . last month i was diagonesed with 70% stenosis in left coroary artery? Is thereanyone u had cardiac surgery ?Please tell me how long i need to suffer pain after CABG?

I used to work in open heart intensive care unit. Believe it or not, there's generally less pain with open heart surgery than with abdominal surgery. CABG's have almost become as routine as appendectomies. Good luck. I'm sure you'll do fine.

I had six bypasses, don't worry, there's little pain with this. There is some discomfort in the chest from the surgery, like don't cough to hard or, clear your throat to hard.

one has to bear,

There is no "suffering". After your surgery, you are prescribed pain medication which will make any discomfort that you might have tolerable. It may take up to 6 weeks to be completely pain free or it can be sooner, it depends on you and how you heal

Your recovery can be spent learning how to spell.

BYE?

You'll have pain medication. I don't recall that much pain after mine.

Just don't do anything that will make your chest expand. Practice belly breathing. You will have a clutch pillow to help keep your chest from moving from laughter, a cough, or sneeze.

But a single 70% blockage is not that severe. Ask about having a stent instead, a far simpler surgery, and much less expensive. Mine were 99%, 99%, and 80%.

The chest is wired shut, so it can not actually expand the cut..
