C-section?

I had a c-section three and a half months ago, but I still feel some swelling and tenderness around where the incision was made. Is this normal?

You have to remember that a cesarean section cuts through your skin layers, fat layers nerves and also muscle. You are going to take a while to heal completely.

However, when it comes to surgeries, if there's anything you're worried about at anytime then I would **always** check it out with a health professional, like a health visitor or a midwife or your specialist.

Wishing you lots of healing thoughts, good luck! :o)

Yes it is perfectly normal................. I had one when i had my daughter (who is now 9)......... I still had swelling and tenderness about 6 months after my c-section. Plus i still have numbness where the incision is.But if you develop any redness in the area...........just check with your doctor to make sure you dont have an infection.

I myself had a c-section done with my 9 month old boy. I still have pain and feel tenderness when I do to much. I had asked my doctor and he told me it was normal that the body of a c-section really takes 3 years to recover.

I had a c-section on about 2 1/2 months ago and I still feel tender around the area. I'm also a bit numb. I talked to my doctor and she said it was all normal.
