Has anyone ever had a "c-section scar removal with a hysterectomy?"? |
My doctor (actually 3 dr's) have recommended I have a hysterectomy, however one suggested that I have the c-section removed as it possibly contains endometriosis within the skin tissue (causing the pain I have been experiencing the last 4 years that no one has been able to pinpoint the cause of) .....he is suggesting to "cut out" the c-section scar and do an open hysterectomy. I cannot find anything online about this type of procedure being done and I am a little wary of this. Any suggestions?????? Removing your c section scar only involves removing a small part of the sking containing the scar and underlying tissue. Many obstetricians will remove an old scar with the next c section for cosmetic reasons if the previous one left an unpleasing scar. Don't sweat it. your hysterectomy if done per abdomen would require opening the abdomen , so the surgeon will reopen the previous scar , debride the diseased tissues, if any , remove the uterus and sew again, it does not entail any additional risk so go get it done. |
