I have a terrible c-section infection and need advice!!.?

I had a c-section 2 weeks ago and have a really bad infection. I've been on Keflex and Bactrim and nothing is working. Now they want me to go back to the OR and re-open the wound and take out the puss and infection around the area. Can't they just drain it???? Is this normal??? Has anyone had this problem who had a C-section??? Please advise a.s.a.p.

No I'v never heard of that. But I would let them do what they say to get rid of it so it doesn't get into your blood stream. Sorry you have to have so much pain just after having a baby. Get well soon! Take care of yourself.

I have had three c-sections but never had an infection. It is best that you have the surgery. The infection is festering within. This is not common. I would consider another doctor when this is done.
I have an auto immune disease, which means I have an compromised immune system and did not have this occur. Do not delay. This can turn into sepsis which is very dangerous.

Just do what the docs advise - don't fool around with an infection. I had a c-section, but didn't get infected there. Instead I got a systemic infection and have recurrent cellulitis, which showed up for the first time a few hours AFTER I had my seven-week checkup! Not impressed.... it just shows up every few years, and is very dangerous.

By now sweetie, I certainly hope you have gone to the OR. Please if you have not gone, GO. Infection is nothing to play with. There are natural things you can do along with your Doctors advice, but at this point, you need something stronger than nature. I wish you health, and hope you are in recovery now.. DL

Repeat surgery is actually more common than anyone is told before they go under the knife. You probably need the surgery. Something could have gone wrong and they will need to find out.

I'm sorry you're going through this. I just hope you weren't one of the 70% of caesarean victims/patients that were surgically delivered unnecessarily.
