Is this normal recovery for a c-section or should I worry? |
I had a c-section 2 1/2 weeks ago on Feb 15th. Since the surgery I have had a few concerns. First, anytime I have to digest anything, the pain is very intense (while anything passes through my intestines past my inside incision). Second, I have lost the sensation you get when you have to pee. I literally NEVER feel like I have to go, even when I KNOW I should. When I do go, I have to really focus and it takes a little bit for me to be able to go. Third, there is no swelling below my incision, but the area directly above it is swollen. It looks like a roll of fat now (I have never had this before). And lastly, I have had a low-grade fever on and off for a week or so. I should note that the flu is going around in my family. My question is: Do any of these issues put up a red flag, do they relate, or am I just worrying too much? Call your doctor. Everything sounds a lot like my c-section, except for the fever part. A low grade fever really needs to get checked out because the risk of infection. I would error on the side of being overly cautious, call your doctor and explain the situation and see what they recommend. i had 2 c-sections. First you will be sore for about a month every time you digest something. second the sensation to pee comes and goes it normally straightens itself out. try running water when you go to pee. if you are still swollen or there is an odor from your incision get to the doctor. sometimes a low grade fever is normal but not if you have had it for a few days.and you do not want the flu after having a c-section it hurts like heck to cough. If I was you i would go ahead and call my doctor have them to go ahead and check you out to be safe. I do not think you are worrying to much by no means!!!! they could relate but i would still be seeing the red flag. just go get looked at. better to be safe than sorry |
