Pregnant after Open Gastric Bypass Surgery??

I had the bypass a little over a year ago...I was looking for information on pregnancy after an open gastric bypass surgery..?? internet excess to this question is running me in circles..??Please help!!

I would think that it would not affect the pregnancy. You should be fully healed. The baby would maybe push on your stomach but other then that should not interfere. I would speak to your doctor who did the surgery though, he may have some suggestions and my refer you to a nutritionist to help you get the proper nutrition for you and the baby as your eating very small doses of food and sometimes you may need to increase that to make sure the baby is getting enough.

i have heard after a year. but i would defiantly check with your Dr on this one just to be sure that your body has leveled it vitamin intake exc..:)

Hi, it is your doctor the one that has to make that decision based on your particular case... for general info about Pregnancy and WLS, go to http://www.themorbidme.com/2006/09/pregn...

I agree that you should check with your doctor. One year is the usual rule of thumb, but there could be individual factors that might make a difference. Good luck!
