My relative have undergone BYPASS surgery. He went for final check up,doctor hav told there r some minor block?

My relative have undergone BYPASS surgery and after 3 months he went for final check up, that time the doctor have told still u have minor blocks in ur heart. Is this minor block will give trouble in future?or the doctor did surgery wrong?

This doesn't necessarily mean the MD did anything wrong, and the minor blockages could potentially be problematic. It may not have been anything he could fix. There may be enough blood flow from the new grafts to give blood flow to the areas with the blockages. Im sure they have been advised of diet and lifestyle changes. Hopefully they are involved in a cardiac rehab program. My advise is to be as healthy as possible, now that they have new grafts to take care of, because it does mean that they wont clot off in the future. Good luck to you and your family.

The blockage is caused by clotting, blood or fatty deposits being the culprit. This means that your relative needs to be carefully monitored, takes the medications, and follow a strict low-fat,low-cholesterol diet.Another surgery to unblock the affected arteries might be needed, but then again, surgery may not be needed if the blockages dissolve with medication and diet. And,no,this does not necessarily mean the doctor did the surgery wrong. Some people have a natural tendency to form clots and scars that are more troublesome.

Minor blockages in coronary arteries are not uncommon. Blockages of 25% have been noted in some teenagers. Generally a cardiologist will not recommend surgery, bypass or stenting, until a blockage is at least 70%. Of course even minor blockages should be monitored, especially in someone with existing coronary artery disease that required intervention. Changes in lifestyle and medication are usually required to prevent the blockages from getting larger.
