What percentage of triple bypass surgery patients live beyond 5 years? |
They tell you with the triple bypass surgery they are trying to add 5 years to your life. 5 year grafts patency rate is 82% .Patients'survival is 95% My uncle had this procedure done about 10 yrs ago and he is still kicking and says he feels great. That is the only person that I know who has had this done. About 85%-95% survival rate, good luck Don't know the percentage, -- but I'm one, tvm A lot. It depends on any pre existing conditions. Like diabetes, congestive heart failure, renal failure. Most candidates fit the bill for the surgery and are more likely to live normal healthy lives for a long time after. That is, as long as they follow their doc's recommendations of lifestyle changes, diet, exercise, smoking, and no drinking. All these things play a major role in a positive outcome of the patient. I had my first triple by pass when I was 48, I had my second triple bypass at 62 followed by a aorta aneurysm following year at 63. I am now 72 and enjoying watching my grandchildren grow up !!
