For anyone that has had gastric bypass surgery...? |
If you have had gastric bypass surgery can you please answer a couple of questions? I had gastric bypass surgery in April 2005. I started out at 268, now I鈥檓 180 and holding. These links will help you in many ways to make a decision if this is for you or not. I vote yes, because it made such a difference in my life. I was taking 8 pills a day, and after my surgery, I lost my diabetes. The way they do the surgery, takes your diabetes away. I no longer have to take glucophage, and I no longer have high Cholesterol or high blood pressure. I鈥檓 down to 2 pills a day. I went from a size 26-28 to a 16-18. my sister had this surgery done when it first came out which she was cut , they do laser now a whole lot easier. she done hers at uva in virginia,she weigh alot when she first went in i say aroung 900 and now her weight is 240 and she is tall about 6ft. so yes she had alot of excess skin which she had remove from her legs and she got a staff infection so she kinda wary about getting her stomach done now. but she looks great and feel good. you have to learn how to eat right all over again. you have a smaller stomach so only so much food can u eat at a time . if u overload it will come back up. u need to eat slowly a little at a time and drink the same way. it will be certain foods u can eat easy and some that dont digest so well. but over time u will learn this and it wont happen over night.her bowel was the same for her but once you have this done they like for you to come in once a year and have a colon test done for your safety. my sister gets hers done every year its no problem doing it. i recommend operation to people if its life or dying young. people who are extreme overweight. it is something to think about and read about and get all the info.you can,hope this help some, good luck.
