After how many days of bypass surgery can a person take 60ml of whiskey/wine?

my dad underwent bypass surgery . he is 52 yrs of age. he also takes a painkiller- once a day if pain in chest or somewhere else persists then twice a day that's tramadol50mg. any suggestions for as he's suffering from constipation also?

He can drink all the whiskey and wine he wants whenever he wants. There isn't any day or days of waiting.

Of course this could kill him! Don't allow your father to self medicate for pain or anything with booze.

Ask his doctor regarding the whiskey.

As far as the constipation goes, pain medicines are known to make you constipated. Try an over the counter stool softener such as Colace. If that doesn't work, Milk of Magnesia (also over the counter) should work.

The pain med. causes constipation, have him drink lots of water. The alcohol could cause trouble with other med. he is taking. Get off pain pills and start exercising.

Six to eight weeks after the operation and avoid drinking alcohol before having sex since liquor is a depressant and may make more work for the heart. Suffering from constipation with be normal in time.
