Does medi-cal cover gastric bypass surgery?

live in cali, and would like to know if gastric bypass or some other wt. loss surgery is covered by medi-cal

A doctor would have to document that the surgery would save your life because it could help with other conditions like hypertension, diabetes.. You would have to try a medical weight loss plan first.
