IM GOING TO HAVE Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass Surgery? PLEASE ONLY PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD IT RESPOND TO MY ?

im going to have Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass Surgery , just talked to my doctor and its the only thing left to do , im 248pounds , lots of medical problems from it , please if you have had this done , or the band one done , let me know how it was after and now , how bad was the change and how much you lost and all that info , thanks kimberly

to the lady who lost her son , im so sorry for you lost , i have tryed so many diets and i do lose but it comes back and more , i have to have it because im having realy bad pain in my liver from the preshure of the liver being pushed up from fat and then my legs are all swollen from my wiehgt , i dont know why i have so many problems only being this much overweight , but now im freaked out over this , i dont want a doctor to make a mistake , was it done in vancouver wa ? im so sorry once again

Make sure you research the Doctor doing it. I have seen lots of complications with the gastric bypass, far more than the banding procedure. If I had a choice I would do gastric banding. You do not mention the your height and your BSA. But be careful and make sure you are at a center of bariatric surgery that see this surgery frequently and are capable of handing complications. My son has this done. He died Friday. He went to the top in the region, yet the surgeon missed that he punctured a hole in the intestine. My son spent a week in terrible pain, yet the doc said that was NORMAL after the surgery. Then, another doc suspected septic shock. By then it was too late. Please diet and excersise. You cannot eat solids for a month, so why not try this first. 248 is not that heavy.
