I just found out when they did bypass surgery on my dad and they removed a growth? |
My dad recently last month went through bypass surgery, and i found out they found a growth in the surgery that got removed and they think it is cancer. Im a bit scared? Will it come back? Should i be worried about it? They wont give him any more information yet. Thanks. Of course it's normal to be scared but you shouldn't be. It could be many things and because they removed it is likely that nothing more will happen to your dad. You'll just have to wait and see what they have to say but as for now you shouldn't worry about it. I hope your dad is doing alright from surgery. IDK im sorry about your dad;( Only time will tell. They have a lot of good treatments out there though, don't be too worried. the growth u have mentioned is probably a THYMOMA which is usually a benign growth which will not recurr after removal ,so rest assured do not worry I am not trying to scare you, but it might return or not might not. You & your Dad should go see his Dr. & tell him you want answers & you want them now ! It does not take that long to get the results back, especially if it was cancer, he should have put a RUSH on it.. Of course, some Dr.s are just plain inconsiderate about their patients feelings. But if you tell him you need to know now so you can get the best you can, he may call the lab & have them speed it up with the results. And please try not to worry. Stress can cause high blood pressur & worse. I am sorry that you and your dad are going through this difficult situation. Try to be strong and wait until you and he have the facts from the doctors. I know that you are concerned, but it is possible that removal of the growth during the surgery has saved his life. There are many types of cancer. Some grow, some spread, others are contained and if removed do not return. It will take the doctors some time to determine the nature of the particular tissue they removed. In the mean time, be there for your dad. He will need some emotional support. Remember that prayer helps and miracles do happen. |
