Iliopsoas Bursitis: Treatment and Pain Management?

I went through 4 months of physical therapy, and it made little change and sometimes even made the pain worse. My doc wanted to throw me into "sports physical therapy" and acupuncture, but my insurance covered neither.

What are some alternative measures to treat and heal iliopsoas bursitis? What is the best course to take?

I went through a CT, MRI, US and course of Xrays. It was Dxed by my doc and the radiologist.

How was this diagnosed? How do you know the diagnosis is correct. And, if the diagnosis is correct, WHAT is CAUSING the bursitis? If treatment is to be successful, it must be aimed at the cause.

Good luck.
