Knee Bursitis?

Does it hurt to get your knee bursitis drained? have any of you experienced it? I may need to get it drained... do i have to use crutches after the draining?

I am going through this right now. I had it drained on Monday night. OMG, no one told me it was going to hurt this bad. It didn't really hurt before it was drained, not that bad. Sorry, not to scare you, but yes.....it hurts.

I fell on my knee, really hard and I re-injured is several times after that which caused it to fill with fluid. After it was drained the doctor found that I punctured a hole in my tendon which is part of my pain. Maybe not so bad for you?

It is throbbing really bad, and at times it feels someone is jabbing with a knife in the back of my knee. I lose sleep because of the throbbing.

I had it drained because it can become infected which I didn't want to take any chances with. I was offered crutches, but declined. I'm wearing a knee immobilizer which is keeping it straight and unable to bend. I'm resting and keeping it elevated, compressed with an ace wrap, and icing every 2-3 hours.

Plan on staying home from work for the day after and possibly the next as well. Good luck and best wishes!

i have never experienced it.... sounds painful!!!! :((
