Anyone know how to lessen bursitis pain? |
A good friend of mine was told she has bursitis in her hip. The doctor sent her to physical therapy, which seemed to irritate it more. He gave her many pain pills then told her there is no cure and nothing he can do for her. Now he wants to stop the pain medicine also in fear of her getting addicted to them. She tried another doctor in a different town (a specialist) but he to said there is no cure. Has anyone had experience with bursitis and is there anything that truly works to ease the pain? I know a few bodybuilders who've had bursitis, as well as some of my older family members. The doctors were able to treat it with non-inflammatory steroids and (in cases where it wasn't the hip), icing. I'm no doctor but based on their experience and whats easy to find on the web, physical therapy sounds like the last thing you should do. Bursitis is a swelling of the lubricating sacs of the joint. Exercise would make it worse... two instances I had... Three doctors... finally he fixed me up.. Go see an Orthopedic Specialist.. I had cortisone shots and they really helped but finally they had to replace my hip.... No no no it was not that bad.. In six weeks from the operation I was playing golf..
