Treatments for trochanteric bursitis?

I have had this type of bursitis for many years and get very bad flares with it sometimes that I can barely walk It is in both hips, I take anti-inflammatories,stretch when I can, use ice and when real bad get a cortisone shot which use to help but is no longer very beneficial.I have a home ultra sound machine which sometimes relieves a bit of pain as well. Has anyone out there tried accupuncture or anything else for this.???Its getting worse and very very painful so response will be greatly appreciated.~Thank You

Go to an Osteopathic Dr. (a D.O.).
When I had the bursitis in my knees so bad that I could barely walk, he actually manually pumped the bursa to empty it of fluid (not painful, felt great). He also gave me exercises to do in a swimming pool to keep them from filling with fluid again, and told me how to use ice packs for other knee swelling.
RE. the NSAIDs, try Zyflamend by New Chapter, a natural Cox2 inhibitor without the side-effects and long term damage of what you are using, BTDT too. It's available at health food stores. This worked better than Viox or any Rx .
Also, being treated with classical homeopathy went very far to alleviate the pain, as in it eventually got me off crutches after almost a year of needing them to walk very slowly.
thelesterclinic.com on line is my Osteopath, who is also my homeopath. If you are not in my area, he can usually give you a good referral close to you.
Best wishes & said a prayer for you too:)
