Is it safe to treat bursitis with an injection? |
My bursitis has been lasting for more than 10 months! And i'm sick of it! My doc gave me cortisone mixed with a little novacain. It worked short term. It doesn't cure the problem, simply covers the pain and aids healing. But it's better than nothing. Best thing is to let your body heal itself, which may take awhile! Yes. There are always risks with any procedure but your doctor will discuss this with you. If you're talking about a corteson injection, then yes. I've had bursitis, arthritis, and plantar faschiitis (heels) treated with cortesone shots and it's helped by 95%. Best wishes. I have had injections for pain that are safe & effective. A pain mgmt. dr. has lots of experience with these. Make an appointment! |
