Any advice for a long term sufferer of hip bursitis? |
4 years ago I was a marathon runner without limits, now I am a 24 year old college student living a life that is marred by constant pain. I initially sprained my left ankle running, kept running, then suffered from stress fractures in my femur, followed by persistent bursitis pain in my left hip. Its been four years, my stomach has been ravaged by anti-inflammatories and I have had 4 cortisone injections with no luck. Biking, walking, swimming, and going up stairs aggravate the condition. I am out of shape and hopeless...a shadow of my formerly fit and athletic self. any advice? i have had my bursitis for 5 yrs now, and no relief. i would not let them do the cortizone shots (your stronger than me!) the only thing that helps for me is tramadol, which you will need to get from your dr. fortunately, i have learned that mine is my hip poping out, and have learned how to put it back in. i wish you the best of luck, and i hope you find out how to help yourself. |
