What is BURSITIS Deseases????

is it arthrities?
what are the symptoms?
is it curable?

thank you!

I have suffered bursitis form time to time. It is NOT a disease per se. It is a condition involving inflamation of the bursa.

The sites below have some good info on it.

it is something similar to arthritis. the symptoms are : A dull ache or stiffness in the area of your elbow, hip, knee, shoulder, big toe or other joints
A worsening of pain with movement or pressure
An area that feels swollen or warm to the touch
Occasional skin redness in the area of the inflamed bursa. this is indeed curable

A bursa is a small fluid filled sack over bony prominences. Touch your elbow and move the skin. It moves freely over the bone because of the normal bursa between the skin and bone.

Now bursitis is inflammation of this fluid filled sack. This can be due to injury, disease, or infection. When there is inflammation the sack fills with more fluid than normal and becomes painful.

The most common location is on the side near the hip. The Trochanteric Bursa. This is treated with Anti inflammatory medications, stretching and strengthening exercises of the Iliotibial band and hip abductors, and sometimes injections of steroids.

This is treatable and curable. Unlike arthritis it is not progressive.

I don't know much about the condition, but here is a website were you can find the answers to all of your questions. Good luck!

no it is not arthritis.pain is the most symptom, yes it is curable.
