Oil burns treatment?

Well, I burnt my forearm with a splash of hot oil the other day (2 days ago) in the kitchen and now i have 5 distinct "burn" marks; where the oil droplets landed

Seeing as its not that bad, i didnt consult any physicians

My question is, they've blistered about 5 hrs after the incident, but I popped them with a needle; seeing that chances are, i'll pop them by accident and may be even worse (with infection and stuff).

And now, the skin from the blister has "covered" the burns and is charred; not, black but a darker color then the sides.

I'm pretty sure its at least a 2nd degree burn; so how should improve treatment to it? I've been washing it regularly to prevent infection, and covered any exposed area with bandaid and antibact. Will it naturally heal or should i peel the darkened skin covering it and replace it with bandaids?

Thanks for any advice

Leave the skin where it is; it'll allow healthy skin to heal in underneath.

I'd recommend washing the wounds with hydrogen peroxide, air drying, and then applying a small amount of 'Burt's Bees Miracle Salve' (second link below, but you can find it in most drug stores). After that, cover with a bandage like the one in the first link, which you can also find in most drug stores. This type of bandage can stay on the wound for up to 3-5 days, allowing healing to take place.

Best of luck . . .

Clean and dry, uncovered. All burns need to breath. Yes you should wash it, and, to keep from getting a scar, you could try an ointment. However ; the rule of thumb for any burn is to keep it clean, keep it dry and uncovered. The skin that is burned will come off, in the mean time, the new skin needs to be covered with the scab. Never pop a burn blister. when a burn is just received, wash it, dab on some antibiotic ointment, then cover it for a day or so. Then, let it dry and keep it clean
