What burns more calories?


Tredmill(on speed. 4.0) or Elliptical Trainer ?

Because when i go on the tredmill for about 20 minutes it says i burned 20(around) calories, but the elliptical says it burns like 40 calories in 20 minutes.


And how does it tell how many calories it burned?

Hi, don't go by either for the amount of calories you burn...those are inaccurate...and you usually have to divide that amount by 3-4 to get the actual calories burned...there are too many other factors that come into play when calculating the amount of calories burned.

If you're trying to do the math on calories, anything with a specific number is usually going to be way off. Everyone burns calories at their own rate determined by their metabolism.

Learn your body and learn what amount is good for you. Anything you are doing should be long term anyways, so this shouldn't be a problem. Short term exercise regimes never work.

thats inaccurate. there are many factors that play a role. and it doesnt know how many calories you are burning, only your body knows that. i once heard a person burns around 10 calories a minute with moderate cardio exercises. if you weigh less it may be a little less, more weight you will burn more than 10. but i heard that, dont know its veracity.

i do not know for sure, but they are pretty close.
i do think the elliptical though, becuase you are doing way more work on it then you are a treadmill..

also, whoever said dont go buy what it says, it all depends on weight, gender, age, and some other things...

you can probably find a chart on the internet that tells a general idea about how much an activitly burns.

i know we have one in our health room, but i am not sure what it said. (so i am sure there is one that you can look at)

    ALWAYS use a minimum of SPF 15 everywhere. It is better to use high SPF with longer bed times than the other way around. I am very fair skinned and always use SPF 30 - 50, and can still get burned....
