Remedies for burns?!? |
I burnt myself and I need some remedies that can cure burns quickly using common household items. I need some quick remedies to cure 1st degree burns using household items Use non- repeat non-menthol shaving cream such as barbers. Takes the burn out rather quickly. Cold water.....aloe vera exfoliate gently -no picking at the skin. moisturize well. You really can't cure a burn quickly but try running the burn under warm water. Yes warm water. Cold water only helps for the moment but then makes it hurt worse. Then use aloe vera it has a natural cure for burn pain. Then apply a wet to dry dressing over the burnt area to promote healing. Thats all I have. There are no cures for burns. Keep site uncovered and clean. you need to put your hand in a bucket of cold water...and leave it in the cold warter for at least twenty minutes. try and make the water as cold as possible but do not apply ice directly to the burn. The chemist will sell good burn creams you could try...but the most important thing is leaving it in cold water for at least twenty minutes before you put anything on it. one old timer told me once that if you slice an onion in half and press it on a fresh burn it won't blister. throw one in the juicer? I imagine its something in the juice... my boss at mickey D's swears by pickle juice. esp for grease burns. just stick your hand in the jar. take the pickles out first.... what kind of burn was it? If it just happened, use ice at once. Otherwise, if the skin is broken, treat it like any other open wound. If not, I'm not sure there is much you can do. aloe vera pulp and or goldenseal is a natural antibiotic that helps to prevent infection if you have goldenseal tea , bayberry, black or green tea and blackberry leaves, sumac and sweet gum, white oak bark all contain tannic acid which has been used in clinics for surface burns that have begun to heal, these herbs can be used as teas and as wet compresses. Horsetail and slippery elm also help skin to heal. applying ice water immediately then vinegar soaked compresses or a strong black tea and or ginger juice, egg whites or raw potatos for scalds, baking soda or cider vinegar in warm water for acid or chemical burns. |
