Are bunions really bad for people's health?

Yes; men get them also. No; they aren't bad for your overall health; the only problems with them are if you are in pain from them. If they are large and are constantly rubbing on the insides of your shoes to the point at which the skin gets rubbed raw, you might have additional problems with infection. Otherwise, it's just a matter of having pain; not an overall health concern.
