Has anyone had bunions operated on both feet? |
How painful was the operation and how was the recovery after the surgery? I know someone who has. The actual operation isn't painful as you are heavily drugged. Painkillers are given to you after the operation. The afternath is painful, but doesn't last long. I would take 2 weeks off of work. Do it though, because in the long run, you'll be thankful! The initial pain is tough, but managable. The surgeon I went to refused to do both at one time because of the stress of walking. You need one good load bearing foot. It was well worth it though! So nice to have normal fitting shoes and able to walk without pain. Good luck to you, I am sure you will do very well! I have and for the first few days after the medicine wore off, it was very painful. I was also young at the time. My mom and dad had to help me do everything from putting me in bed, to putting me on the toilet. I spent about 4-5 weeks in a wheelchair and had to do special excersizes for about a few weeks after I got my casts removed to regain the strength in my muscles. We took advantage of the time in the wheelchair and went to every major theme park in 200 miles, just so we could get to the front of the line. I Now Someone Who Has Had Them Operatated On . It Takes A While. But It Depends How Every Thing Is Going. surgery was a lil painful. quick recovery I opted not to have the surgery. What I did, instead, was to start going to a nail parlour and getting my feet done once or twice a month. It is WONDERFUL. I always choose to have my feet done by an Oriental immigrant (Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese). There must be a different study program in the Far East than in the western world and I think they are specialists in the field. For $30.00 plus tip, my feet are soaked/cleaned/massaged, all callouses/corns removed, toenails painted ..... if I have a hangnail, they remove it, they remove the cuticle, trim the nails, moisturize the skin ...... and all of this is done without invasive or risky surgery which is not guaranteed. You may need to have surgery, but I advise you to try this idea first. There is nothing to lose. Good luck ! my mom had both done at once |
