Im getting bunions on my big toes, what can i do to reverse this without getting surgery? |
i dont wear heels often either Heels aren't the culprit...BAD/CHEAP shoes are.. I saw a contraption you can wear while you sleep today in a Walter Drake catelog. I just looked it up.for you..it's called a "Regulator". they don't HAVE a website (duh!). bind them in cloth to prevent growing and to shrink them a little. be carefull not to over do it. better fitting shoes, invest in a good pair. You can try bunion splints at night (however it is questionable whether they really work). You should discuss your concerns with a podiatrist. In the least, you should be wearing orthotics at all times to retard the progression of the deformity. My mom's generation had one method, a small spool for thread - wooden (can't find those anymore in fabric stores), placed between the big and second toe during the night. This would push the big toe into more correct alignment, retarding the bunion formation - however would push the second toe out of correct alignment - leading to ???? I've not had the surgery but have friends who have. |
