Do I have a bunion?

I read up on it and it seems bunions are always located on the big toe joint, but I have a painful bump on the pinky toe side. Is it a bunion? It's under the skin and it hurts in shoes. It's sticking out pretty good now and I don't know what the heck it is.

This is called a 'Tailor's Bunion', so called because people thought tailors sat cross-legged on the floor as they worked.
You need to check how your shoes might be affecting the condition and consider wider shoes/stretching the shoes and perhaps a pad in the shoe. Anti-inflammatory drugs will help, but the cause needs to be determined and any bone deformity. Some of theses require surgery.

It is probably a corn. You can get pads to put over it at the drug store. The best way to get rid of them is not wear closed toe shoes until it goes away.

I had a bunion on my big toe but had surgery back in November. I recall the doc calling the one on the pinky toe a "bunionette." You should see a posiatrist to get it checked and get a recomendation.
