BULLYING - Is this mental rape? |
Rape is about being forced into circumstances over which you have no control; and being subjected forceably to degrading and inhuman treatment (of a sexual) nature, in voilation of your physical self, your mental self, your human rights etc. I not going into your question too much but yes I think that bullying is a form of mental rape. when it comes to a crime it is sexual hi It depends on the degree of violation, surely. You won't be successful if you can't suffer degrading treatment gracefully once in a while. Yes, yes and yes. Rape is a very strong word Be careful how you use it Happens to me all the time| It's mental and verbal abuse. It's all about control by the bully. And the scars go just as deep when it's this type of abuse. It slowly eats at self esteem too. It's cruel, it's inhumane, it's frightening. Standing up to the bully is hard but can be done. There are no physical bruises and society still doesn't accept that verbal abuse is abuse; it's invariably done behind closed doors where no one else can hear. If the abused calls the authorities, the abuser lies and takes it out, again, on the victim. It's hard to prove! There is no such thing as "mental rape". Rape has very explicit implications and I think that most victims of rape would find your comparison offensive. i wouldnt necessarily say its "mental rape" but i believe being mentally abused can sometimes be as bad as physical abuse. i was never bullied but i was raped |
